The museum houses a sparse but powerful collection of items - from shackles to hangmen's nooses to weapons that prisoners fashioned out of crude materials. The museum has its light moments - inmate crafts, candid photos of actor James Woods during the filming of "Diggstown" - but the grim reality of prison life comes through.
